High Museum of Art

This position supports the implementation of school programs, including the Prekindergarten through 12th grade student tour and workshop program, professional learning for educators, homeschool programs, and student artwork exhibitions, while being knowledgeable of the High’s collections and special exhibitions. This includes administrative, event, and program support.

 ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 Student Programs – 60%

Assist in the coordination of student programs, such as the tour and workshop program, homeschool days, student exhibitions, student performances, school partnerships.

  • Assist in scheduling teaching artists and maintaining supplies inventory and budget, as well as ordering supplies for school programs.
  • Maintain workshop and closet supplies spaces used by School and Teacher Services department.
  • Coordinate with the Education Office Coordinator, Family Programs Assistant, and teaching artists to maintain supplies inventory and workshop spaces.
  • Assist in day-of logistics for tour and workshop program, homeschool programs, student performances in the galleries, and school partnership programs, as needed, by working closely with the entire School and Teacher Services team, as well as the Coordinator of Docents and Interns.
  • Work closely with education staff, including teaching artists, volunteer docents, and guest relations to facilitate effective tour and workshop program.
  • Assist and coordinate the student exhibition program by working closely with the Head of School and Teacher Services by creating student labels, student certificates, and brainstorming in the program layout and execution.
  • Support the Hub @ the High program in relation to Academic Affiliates.
  • Assist in special event planning around teacher programs by working closely with various High Museum and Woodruff Arts Center departments, such as catering, parking, event scheduling, security, and guest relations.

 Teacher Programs – 20%

  • Support in the coordination of teacher programs, such as Evening for Educators, Teacher Appreciation Days, all teacher professional learning programs, Administrator Advisory Committee, and Teacher Advisory Panel.
  • Assist in special event planning around teacher programs by working closely with various High Museum and Woodruff Arts Center departments, such as catering, parking, event scheduling, security, and guest relations.

Departmental Support – 20%

  • Support School and Teacher Services department, as needed, in all school and teacher programs.
  • Support Coordinators of School Tour Sales and Art Access Program Coordinator in maintaining data in Tessitura and tracking documents.
  • Respond to basic inquiries about school programs via phone and email.

 OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including customer service
